“Holy Mountain” is a reinterpretation of paintings from the collections of the Musée des Augustins. This book is based on the chromatic effects of aerial perspective, a pictorial technique popularized in the Renaissance which consists of marking the depth of field with color gradients. Focusing on mountains – a recurring distant landscape – Holy Mountain opens our eyes to these details relegated to the back of the narrative strata of religious paintings.
