<Si Bei>는 14년에 걸친 프로젝트의 정점을 찍으며 2024년에 완성되었다. 라헴은 2007년 처음으로 카메라를 접한 이후, 자신의 고향이자 중국 중부의 전형적인 산촌인 시베이를 촬영하기 시작했다.
이 마을 주민들은 수세기 전 남쪽으로 이주한 하카족의 후손들이다. 따라서 이 지역은 하카족의 정착지 중 하나이다. 게다가 이 마을은 20세기 초 중국 혁명가들이 혁명적 이상을 실현하고자 했던 장소로서 역사적 의미를 지니고 있다. 이곳은 한때 중국 소비에트 공화국의 수도였으며, 홍군의 장정(長征)이 시작된 출발점이기도 했다.
이 작품을 창작하는 동안 라헴은 또 다른 탐구, 즉 10년 넘게 이어온 자신의 정체성에 대한 성찰을 병행했다.
이러한 탐구는 <Wander-lost> (2013), <Walking 1000 Kilometers Back to Hometown> (2016), <Luo Fuping/Reborn> (2019) 등 여러 작품으로 이어졌다.
<Si Bei>에서 라헴은 자신과 가족, 혹은 땅 사이의 이분법적 대립을 넘어선다. 대신 그는 시베이 마을이 위치한 땅과 그곳에 사는 사람들에게 초점을 맞춘다. 그의 관심은 공유된 인간의 운명, 땅의 영원함, 공간의 신비, 그리고 시간과 역사의 흐름에 맞서며 이 땅을 살아가는 사람들의 투쟁, 회복력, 그리고 굽히지 않는 정신에 집중된다.

"Si Bei" was completed in 2024, marking the culmination of a project spanning 14 years. Since Lahem first encountered a camera in 2007, he begen photographing Sibei – his birthplace and a typical mountain village in central China.
The villagers of this village are descendants of the Hakka people, whose ancestors migrated south centuries ago. Thus, the area is one of the Hakka settlements. Moreover, the village holds historical significance as a site where early 20th-century Chinese revolutionaries sought to realize their revolutionary ideals. It was once the seat of the Chinese Soviet Republic and served as the starting point of the Red Army’s Long March.
During the creation of this work, Lahem also pursued another line of inquiry—an introspection on his identity that spanned over a decade.
This exploration resulted in several works, including "Wander-lost" (2013), "Walking 1000 Kilometers Back to Hometown" (2016), and "Luo Fuping/Reborn" (2019).
In "Si Bei", Lahem moves beyond the binary opposition between himself and his family or land. Instead, he shifts his focus to the land where Sibei village is located and the people living there. His attention centers on shared human destinies, the permanence of the land, the mystery of space, and the struggles, resilience, and unyielding spirit of the people inhabiting this land as they face time and historical tides.
